Henryk Chmielewski (comics)

Henryk Jerzy Chmielewski (born June 7, 1923), nicknamed Papcio Chmiel (Papa Chmiel) is a Polish comic book artist and publicist.[1][2]

He was born in Warsaw. During World War II Chmielewski served in the Home Army[1] (7. pułk piechoty AK) and as a 21-year-old man he took part in the Warsaw Uprising.[3] After the war he served in the Polish Army, from which he was discharged in 1947 and started to work for youth magazine Świat Przygód, and for Świat Młodych magazine in 1949. [1]

He is the author of 32 tomes of Tytus, Romek i A'Tomek comic books.[1]
